However, if the dress is being rented or loaned to the bride, then the insurance will compensate the policyholder for the real value of the wedding dress, with a dilapidation deduction applied, in the event of a total loss. For a loaned or rented dress which suffers a partial loss, such as becoming stained by red wine, the coverage will pay for the costs of restoring the garment.

Please note that wedding dress insurance coverage does not protect you against damage to the dress resulting from normal wear and tear, nor does the coverage extend to damage caused by weather unless the wedding event is organized outdoors and this has been declared on the application. Additionally, damage to the dress stemming from an intentional "Trash The Dress" session are not typically covered under a wedding dress coverage benefit on a wedding insurance plan.
