Cooper Claridge-Ware can reveal that customers holding international health insurance plans from insurer Now Health International are able to access extended direct billing and settlement options for maternity benefits under the company’s Advance, Excel, and Apex plans.

This comes in the wake of a raft of insurers implementing extensive reforms with regards to their maternity coverage options – and follows the extreme premium increases levied by DKV Globality as a result of their unsustainable pricing of iPMI (International Private Medical Insurance) products offering maternity benefits.

The move by Now Health International to offer expanded outpatient direct settlement for maternity benefits is sure to be welcomed by many existing clients, and will serve as an incentive for new customers to consider the Now plans as a viable maternity options outside of the traditional players in the sector.

The expanded direct settlement options provided by Now Health start with the company’s WorldCare Advance policies – the most basic of Now’s maternity offerings – and will allow for the coverage of US$7,000 in outpatient maternity treatments to be covered directly by the insurer. Whilst the WorldCare Advance plan is a cost effective maternity insurance solution for individuals and families worldwide, Now Health has offered customers the option of selecting a 20 per cent co-insurance to help them further lower the overall premium of the plan while being able to enjoy maximum coverage benefits.

Additionally, Now Health is allowing outpatient direct settlement of up to US$10,000 with the WorldCare Excel policy, and direct settlement of up to US$15,000 on the WorldCare Apex plan – both of these policies are more robust (and more expensive) than the WorldCare Advance option and do not offer the ability to include a co-payment.

Now Health is able to offer direct settlement solutions with more than 1,633 medical providers across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe, giving policyholders maximum flexibility with their coverage and enabling customers to have real choice with regards to their doctor. The company is pushing to continually expand its network to ensure maximum coverage for its members, whilst ensuring that all individuals holding a Now Health International Insurance policy are able to have access to the highest standards of care possible.
