A diet rich in sugar can lead to unhealthy eating patterns, obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and heart disease. For those who want to lose weight, sugar cravings can be a real challenge. This substance causes behavioral and neurochemical changes that affect your health on long term basis.
Sugar has been called the silent killer. This addictive commonly used food causes weight gain, feeds cancer cells, and speeds up the aging process. Scientists believe that sugar is one of the main factors responsible for the obesity epidemic worldwide.
This substance not only makes you fat, but also increases your risk of developing serious medical conditions including cancer, liver disease, type II diabetes, inflammation, childhood hypertension, high triglycerides, and abdominal obesity. Additionally, recent studies suggest that eating sugary foods turns off your body's appetite-control system, so you won't be able to tell when you're actually hungry.
